It is our desire to help make the application process to TFR as simple and understandable as possible. Placement in our program is the culmination of a screening process that includes the following 4 steps: Step One Inquiry: It is good to call TFR (509-486-8888) and talk with a staff member or a TFR receptionist. They will be able to answer most questions regarding TFR. If the applicant is deemed to be a viable candidate for TFR's program, then they will extend an invitation to fill out a "Student Application." This application can be downloaded and printed off of this web site. If the applicant is not a viable candidate for TFR, they will inform her at the beginning, so as not to waste time. If this is the case, then we will do our best to provide quality referrals. Step Two Application Review: The applicant can fill out the Student Application thoroughly and honestly and send it in to us via mail or fax (509-486-1543). Please note that incomplete applications will not be processed. Please call to confirm that your application has been received. If, based on the application, TFR's staff determines that the applicant would be a good candidate for our program, she will be invited to schedule a Prospective Student Phone Interview with our intake director. If this is not the case, a referral to other programs may be provided. Step Three Phone Interview: An interview is conducted between our intake director and the potential student over the phone. This interview will last approximately 60-90 minutes. It is the applicant's responsibility to call in, on time, for the scheduled interview. A missed appointment or late call could result in the forfeiture of the applicant's position. Please do your best to use a "land line" for clarity during your interview, and to be in a place where you can talk openly and freely. (Here is a simple word for the wise: We are seeking honest and transparent applicants. If you are not ready to be honest about where you are at, then you probably aren't ready to be at TFR and probably won't be accepted into TFR's program. Any kind of deception or dishonesty will be grounds for denial or removal from our program later. Please be honest and open. ) If, after reviewing all of the information, it is determined that the applicant is deemed to be a good candidate for TFR's program, she will be either given an In-Person Interview date or be placed on the waiting list for the next available interview opening. If she is placed on the waiting list, she MUST call in at least once a week to keep her position. If she misses a call in, it will be assumed that she no longer wishes to be kept on TFR's waiting list and we will progress to the next applicant. Step Four In-Person Interview/Intake: Lastly, an in-person interview will be conducted before a final determination can be made by our staff team. (This is not always the case, but is usually required). This interview is the follow-up to the phone interview, and is the final stage of screening. It is at the conclusion of this interview that a decision is made as to whether the applicant will be accepted into the program. Having an in-person interview does not mean the applicant has been accepted. It does serve, however, as the last hurdle to clear in the admissions process. If placement is appropriate, the applicant can be admitted immediately into the program, and she will stay on the same day as the interview. If she is not accepted into TFR's program, she will be offered referrals to other programs. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Because of the nature of our program, we will not arrange tours or visits until we have progressed through the above stated process to the point of the In-Person Interview/Intake stage. Please understand that we will not accept any adult applicant who is applying to TFR against her will or to (solely) fulfill a court mandate or legal requirement. Also, we will not accept a juvenile applicant who is applying against the will of her legal, custodial guardian(s) or parent(s). Student Forms:
