Leadership

Craig and Sharon’s life verse is found in the book of Jeremiah chapter 17:7-8...

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

All of TFR’s staff members, from the director to the interns, serve as domestic
missionaries, receiving only room and board in exchange for their service.
They trust in the sovereign Hand of Providence to meet all of their needs.
Their support derives from caring individuals and churches who believe in
their calling and come along side them to help.

TFR’s counseling staff go through rigorous training and certification programs
in Biblical Counseling. The training and certification our counselors must complete is through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).  Our counselor’s credentials are always available upon request.

Craig and Sharon Lofthus were both born and raised in Des Moines, Washington, a small suburb located just south of Seattle. Craig is a 1991 graduate of Seattle Pacific University where he attained his BA degree in Communication and Biblical Studies. Sharon is a 1991 graduate of Highline College where she received her Professional Secretarial, AAS degree. Craig married Sharon (his high school sweetheart) immediately following their college graduations. Sharon became a competent and unapologetic home-maker and mother. Craig began a career as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Washington, working at a maximum security incarceration facility.

After 5 years of service with the State, Craig entered into the pastorate serving high schools aged and young-adults. Here is where Craig and Sharon saw the tremendous need that young adults had for increased care and shepherding. In the fall of 2001, the Lord led them to establish a residential, Biblical discipleship and counseling ministry in eastern Washington called The Father’s Ranch Ministries. In the spring of 2007 Craig became a certified counselor through ACBC and IABC.  In the spring of 2009 Craig and Sharon opened the Biblical Counseling Center of Okanogan, a non-residential counseling service that offers help and hope for marriages and individuals in North Central Washington.  In 2012 Craig attained a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Biblical Counseling.  Craig and Sharon continue to serve and provide oversight for TFR’s ministries today.
